Adapting to the new normal

Within 3 months of starting my job as a UX Designer, COVID hit India and the entire workforce had to be remote working from home. In a short duration, I learned to adapt to the new work culture. I missed working in the studio culture so I took the initiative of having the team dedicate 15 minutes each day for informal critique and discussion on their design solutions.

My first job as a UX Designer

Working at Extentia Infotech was my first job as a UX Designer. I knew I had to adapt quickly to the fast-paced Agile work environment. I could apply my design acumen and skills gained in my career as an Architect - like critical thinking, design communication, stakeholder management - into my role as a UX Designer to generate valuable design solutions.

Learning new tools

When I joined the company, I was highly skilled in prototyping tools like Adobe XD and Sketch. However, upon joining, I found that Axure RP was a major part of their workflow. I quickly learned the tool and was proficient in it within a matter of weeks. In later stages, we shifted to a more collaborative workflow on Figma. I constantly evolved throughout my time at Extentia infotech and displayed an initiative to gain new skillsets.
